Media Engagement on World AIDS Day – Toast FM Radio Program (1 December 2025)
On 1 December 2025, in commemoration of World AIDS Day, Circuit Pointe Charity Foundation leveraged media engagement as a strategic tool to advance the HIV response in Imo State. The organization featured on a Toast FM radio programme as part of its efforts to raise public awareness, promote accurate information, and contribute to ongoing conversations around HIV prevention, treatment, and care.
During the programme, Circuit Pointe representative was joined by a medical doctor from Everighit Diagnostic Centre. Together, they engaged listeners in an informative discussion on the state of HIV in Imo State, including current prevalence trends, modes of transmission, and evidence-based prevention strategies. Emphasis was placed on the importance of HIV testing, early diagnosis, adherence to antiretroviral therapy, and the role of treatment in achieving viral suppression and preventing further transmission.
The discussion also addressed common myths and stigma associated with HIV, highlighting how discrimination continues to hinder access to services for persons living with HIV. The speakers outlined the ongoing efforts of government institutions and civil society organizations, including community outreach, testing services, treatment support, and advocacy initiatives, aimed at reducing new infections and improving the quality of life of persons living with HIV.
Impact of Strategic Communication
By using radio—a widely accessible medium—Circuit Pointe was able to reach a broad audience, stimulate public dialogue, and reinforce the national and global commitment to ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. The media engagement demonstrated the organization’s recognition of strategic communication as a critical component of public health response and community mobilization.
